In 1970, Beatles began recording a documentary that wanted to tell viewers how they made music. However, this documentary not only did not express the process of music creation, but opened the curtain to let people see the selfishness and quarrel behind the scenes. The band members only pay attention to their own songs and ignore the progress of the entire group. Shortly after the completion of the documentary, the group broke up in the event of a broken friendship.
This has been a problem since ancient times. In the first century after the Lord, the apostle Paul worried that the believers in the Philippians would fall into selfishness and care for their own traps. He knows that when individuals put their own interests on others, disputes and divisions will arise.
In order to stop this dangerous trend, Paul wrote: "Nothing can be done in the party, not in vain glory; as long as you are humble, everyone sees others better than themselves. Everyone should not care for themselves. Things must also be taken care of by others." (Philippians 2:3-4)
What will your life documentary show? Selfish or selfless? We must take care of each other, because selfless attitudes can prevent division and make the church family one. WEC
